eikō ai was co-founded by Glo Lladó, our creative director, whose eye shapes every collection. The name carries her own: eikō [栄光], the Japanese reading of Gloria, joined by ai [愛] — love, and a tribute to those who built the house alongside her.

It began with a single idea: kimono-inspired dresses, cut in delicate, original prints and drawing on the precision and allure of Japanese craftsmanship.

Those dresses remain the heart of the house. But Gloria's vision was never bound to one silhouette — from that origin, eikō ai has grown into a full wardrobe for life's occasions, and the days around them.

What makes a piece eikō ai isn't a single shape. It's a sensibility that runs through everything we make.

It lives in our prints, drawn in-house and made for no one else. In fabrics we develop from scratch rather than source, chosen for how they move and catch the light. In the art of suggestion — drape, transparency, restraint — that lets a piece reveal and conceal in the same breath. And in the fine detail, where nothing is decorative for its own sake and everything earns its place.

It's the reason our products are recognisably ours — long before you find the label.

Everything begins in Barcelona. In our studio in Poblenou — the city's creative quarter — we design every collection, develop every fabric and print, and run the house day to day.

It's where the eikō ai universe is imagined and made real: a space as considered as the pieces that leave it, full of light, colour, and the references that shape each season.

From here, we dress an international clientele — women across Europe and beyond, and a growing family of selected stores who share our world. Rooted in one city. Worn in many.
